Zoe-perry

Perry is the daughter of actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. Two of her earliest television appearances were as Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother played her role. The parents of her did not want her to take on acting roles until she was an adult, fearing the effects of stress. Perry admitted that she wasn't at ease in the stage during high school, but started doing it to connect with new people during her time at Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry, after graduating from Boston University moved into New York in search of TV roles. Perry was able to land small roles on TV shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But, her home-sickness drove her to California for theater roles. Perry's mother and I appeared on Broadway with her for the play The Other Place, in 2013. The father of her Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prizewinning drama Anna Christie alongside her in 2015. Perry played nine roles in the ABC thriller The Family, in 2016. Perry was a regular character in the ABC drama about politics Scandal, starring her dad. She played the younger Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off episode from CBS's The Big Bang Theory was another younger portrayal of her mother. She was cast in the role by auditioning for an open role despite being a fan of this persona.
